The emails have been flying thick and fast today, and many people have asked me what’s up at RLG. Here’s a press release and a FAQ. RLG staff found out about this at 10 am Pacific. Beyond what’s outlined here, I know virtually nothing (but it’s very flattering to find out that so many of you think I’m in the know!).

I got an email from Bob Sink about this yesterday afternoon — probably not very long after you found out about it.
Wow. Big changes, and the end of an era. It feels like the library world equivalent of Apple and Microsoft merging.
I can’t imagine what the atmosphere in the office is like today, though — my thoughts are with my friends and former co-workers at RLG.
