As if digital preservation isn’t already expensive enough…

Is it me, or is this idea to preserve digital data in lunar lava tubes a bit absurb? That data would have to be pretty darned valuable…

    You are *such* a kill joy. Just when I was thinking we’d be able to get grant funding for our own moon base.

    I guess the theory is that if you’re going to be in the neighborhood of Mare Imbrium anyway, why not take advantage of local storage conditions (constant temperature, dust-free, vacuum).

    Admittedly there are small delivery cost problems involved with recalling something from off-site….
